How to Deep Clean Pores

  • Step 1 – Cleaning

For a complete and deep cleansing of pores, there has to first be the intensive cleaning of the face. First, take some cleansing lotion or milk, and dip a moistened cotton ball into it. Run it over your face and neck gently to clean the face of the layer of dirt and dead skin. Next, use a face wash that suits your skin type and gently clean your face with the same. Pat dry with a soft towel.

  • Step 2 – Steaming

In order to clean the pores deeply, the pores have to be opened. This is done by steaming the face. Boil a vessel of water and then place your face directly over the vessel, while covering your head with a towel. Remain under the vessel and take a steam till you can bear it. Continue to do this till the water is hot enough. Steaming opens up pores and allows for deep cleansing. This is the best method for opening up the pores because they remain open for long. Many wonder whether sweating is an effective way for opening pores for cleaning. Does sweating clean your pores? Not really. While sweating opens up the pores to regulate the raised temperatures of the body, they can close the pores just as fast, thus trapping dirt and oil in the pores. Sweating can only clean pores if the pores are closed with cold water at the earliest and the dirt is prevented from leading to clogged pores.

  • Step 3 – Exfoliation

Exfoliation is one of the important steps that is often ignored as far as skin treatments are concerned. Exfoliation is carried through by using natural scrubs which get rid of the layers of dead skin as well as clear the face of the trapped dust and dirt.

  • Step 4 – Masks and Treatments

Steaming opens the pores and thereby allows for a deep treatment. This includes, blackhead removal by using specialized treatment forms, as well as using special masks and treatments. These facial masks will clean the pores, infuse the skin with natural nutrients, tighten the skin and thereby restore the shine and luster. After the mask has dried, wash the face of the dried mask and rub the face with ice cubes that have been wrapped in a cloth. This will close the pores and prevent clogging of the same. It is very, very important to close the pores or you’re just inviting the dust and dirt to trap in.

  • Step 5 – Moisturizing and Toning

Once the face has been treated, use an astringent to tone the face and close the pores further. Then, use a gentle moisturizer and gently massage the face. This will restore the lost moisture and hydrate the face and neck well enough.

Along with understanding the tactics of how to deep clean your pores, it is also important to avoid certain things, like staying away from pollution and dirt, using makeup that is non-comodogenic (doesn’t block pores), washing the make up brushes to get rid of the dirt and following a good cleansing routine. So also ensuring that you clean and wash your face at least twice a day is important. Follow these steps well and you’ll have a healthy and flawless skin soon enough.

Tips to Clear Clogged Pores

  1. One of the most important things to get rid of blocked pores is to cleanse your face everyday. Use a cleanser twice a day, in the morning and at night before going to bed. This will ensure that your skin is free of makeup, debris and sweat that can lead to clogged pores. There are many types of cleansers available in the market that suit your skin type.
  2. Use a facial scrub to exfoliate your skin twice a week. Skin exfoliation is a method to remove the dead cells and dirt from the surface of the skin. Exfoliating your skin also helps in removing other impurities like sweat, dirt and dust from the skin’s surface. Regular exfoliation will give your skin a softer feel, a cleaner and radiant look.
  3. Your skin needs moisture regularly. Drink lots of water and include fruits and vegetables that have a high water content, in your diet. You can also use a water-based moisturizer instead of an oil-based one, as the latter can only aggravate the condition. Regular application will keep your skin hydrated throughout the day.
  4. Using a face toner or astringent is also beneficial, as it helps in preventing clogged pores. Regular use of the toner will yield the desired result.
  5. Another way to clear clogging in pores is the steaming process. When steam passes through the skin, it causes the skin to sweat, thus unclogging the pores.
  6. You can also use a specially designed deep cleansing facial mask to clean pores. There are two types of masks, one is ‘rinse off’ and the other is ‘peel off’. Use of any of these masks is effective to clear blockage in pores and promote a healthier skin.

If all these methods don’t work, pay a visit to a dermatologist who may assess your skin type and give you an appropriate treatment. The doctor may prescribe treatments like creams or use a chemical peel to unclog the pores.
